Presentation

Today we had 2 representatives from Bath Film Office, and Sara from Suited and Booted to come and see our final films. There were 3 groups before us to present their fim, so I was able to get an idea of what kind of questions that i was going to get asked and planned my answers accordingly. Whilst doing our presentation we had a few technical problems with playing clips of our film but we were able to work around this well. We showed 2 versions of our film, one with music, and one without, and gave the audience the chance to tell us which one they liked best. The visitors from Suited and Booted said that adding music gave the film a completely different feel. My only worry when showing our film is the lack of sound, characters, of a story line, however Jeni from Bath Film Office said that she liked the simplicity of the shot.It was interesting to see how other groups worked as a team, and how they went round planning their film and the reason for their ideas. I think this will help me in the future with how i think about planning my film, and what role i take within the team. This also helped my presentation skills, as i was able to notice the positive and negative parts of peoples presentations and use this to improve on my presentation.

Planning for presentation

Today i had to plan out the presentation of my film.
We assigned different sections to part of the group, I decided to talk about the problems we encountered and what we would do differently next time.
I created a power point including stills of the footage and video clips of footage that went wrong. I then created a short speach to go along with the powerpoint, including some other problems that we had faced, and what I would do if i had to o this presentation again. I got this information by looking back at my blogger to remember all the problems that we faced.

Unfortunately, The music foundation course were unable to create music for our film, so we had to create this music our self. I began by converting the film into a suitable format for garage band. We had decided that our origional idea of drum and bass would not really be suitable, and would be hard to create in one lesson. We decided to stick with a more classical theme. Liam then created a piano peice for the film, and i gave him constructive criticism to help him make it more suitable. I thought that his first peice was perhaps too cheerfull, which wasnt inkeeping with the theme of the film, however if he had included some sound effects like rain and heavy breathing, that this could work well and add tension
